Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

>Cue Noggin the Nog music, or possibly Ivor the Engine>

Let us imagine for the moment, that after WWI, in search of markets new, the Cie Decauville had ventured out into the wilds of North Wales and had opened up a little Franco-Welsh subsidiary to serve the numerous narrow gauge lines still in existence. The weather being more inclement than where they came from, they were forced to consider new designs, including, if you can believe this, enclosed cabs .... I think it might be worth a go .... ;)

Looking at the pics in reply #77 I am starting to have a problem separating models from realityYou have got something amazing going on there. I thnk it is the little details like the ladder propped against the wall that does the trick. That loco line up looks stunning.

Yeah, I thought people would like the ladder 8)

See if you can find the reflection of a real ladder (ok, set of kitchen steps) in this photo ;)

The crane car dates back at least 10 years but came from Sierra Valley Enterprises, and is in the Munger Mining series. (I think I got it as a kit which used part from Ozark miniatures). The website is still online, but when I sent a mail for some parts last year, I didn´t get a reply, but who knows.

New arrival on the K&NWLR, but more use outside. A coal-fired ELR Garratt NGG16 - birthday present from Ms K&NWLR, if I can find the right way to get the message across ... :-\

Back down in the cellar to celebrate the re-issue of the Roundhouse "Stanley" tram. Strange to think that it was the first live steam loco I owned back (I think) in 1995. It´s just been in the workshops for an overhaul and wash-and-brush-up. And after the "Stanley" things began to get out of control and one thing led to another .... :-\

Very nice. Where did the little Dutch number (Geldersche ?) come from?

The Dutch one is a Peter Angus, obtained second-hand via Anything Narrow Gauge last year

It´s Monday at dawn on the K&NWLR and time for the school bus to start its rounds .....

And gradually the light gets better as dawn breaks at the harbour station ...
