Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

Re:Kent & North Wales Light Railway: Stokesay Castle - work in progress

Gobsmacked is the term I think! And Stokesay Castle is my favourite English Heritage property.

Bet you didn´t know it had a rack railway leading up to it ....

Re:Kent & North Wales Light Railway: Stokesay Castle - work in progress

Stunning!!! I'm at a loss for words. There's something to be said for modeling indoors.

Re:Kent & North Wales Light Railway: Stokesay Castle - work in progress

Quite amazing.

Really impressive standard of modelling.
Just wondering if I can roof-over my garden! ;)

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

I was just thinking...'I didn't know that Matt Acton did lining on full size locomotives' when I realised I was looking at a photo of a model! Brilliant! The window frames on the building in the top picture are particularly fine.

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

Thanks, I´ll pass on your comments to Matt!. I find the windows distract from the fact that I haven´t yet put in the drainpipes and guttering yet. The houses are all wired up for lighting, and I hope to get some shots of that when I get back. The whole harbour area is still "work in progress" but gradually we´re getting there.

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

Colonel Holman Fred Stephens controlled the East Kent Light Railway and Ffestiniog Railway so there is an historical connection, although there would have been a gauge problem. ;)

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

The Kent & North Wales Light Railway is a dual gauge 32mm/45mm, and Col. Stephens is the honorary president! You´ll find his name on the brass plate next to the front door ...

Superb workmanship and photographs - allways a joy to see!

Re: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: New Boy

The house is a stunning model you can almost feel the texture of the stone.
