Ideas for uses - champagne bottle fixings

An off-the-top-of-the-head idea for the wire retainers..... get some of the fine metal mesh used for car body repair, cut a piece to make a slightly tapered cylinder, and wrap around the wire frame (inside or out) - instant wire mesh waste bin?

;)

Too small, Shirley?? - In best Sean Connery accent.

Perhaps you have bigger bottles??  ;)

Nope, definitely too big.

The best idea so far. Thanks.
(Don't need ideas for plain corks - no such thing in Oz any more, at least not the 'economy' wine I buy. All screw caps.)

Ours come in 4 litre boxes, $10 (@£5) - due to the glut in wine production in WA and low tax.

I keep trying to help the situation, by supping in the wine lake, but I've a long way to go.

BTW, this is not glycol-laced wine, but really quite drinkable stuff...after a couple of litres, it seems like nectar... :D :D

Many thanks for the link to your original thread. Will attempt a few of those bits at some stage.

Cant be doing with corks now. I like the easy open bottles.
