I want a LGB 2095 diesel...

Hi guys - today is my birthday and I've been lucky enough to accumulate a fair bit of money as gifts.

I'd really like a 2095 'whizzy cranks' diesel. I have up to £300 (350 at a push) to spend. Does anyone have anything that might be suitable? or know of someone else who might?

I'd prefer either of the newer OBB red liveries...

Cheers!

Good luck James? They are like hen's teeth.

I was lucky to get mine earlier this year from the CFR, having asked here on the forum.

But hopefully you will come up trumps!

BTW, Happy Birthday too....

Now that's the version I prefer. The winged wheel , more so than the mating slugs :'(.

There's one on the shelf at SP Models that has been there a long time (at least 7 years), ring 'em up and make them an offer they can't refuse.....

So, James, was Dutchelm Mike able to sort you out? The occasional 2095 does still come up on evilBay, a split-gearbox red one went for just a shade over £200 only a couple of weeks ago - I know, 'cos I won it! I'd expected it to go higher given their current scarcity, was quite surprised when I got it. Just converted both power units to 4-wire, it's sitting here disassembled awaiting the arrival of an XLS to go in it. This is my second 2095, I have an orange/cream one bought brand new two or three years ago from GRS.
Whichever version you get in the end, you'll enjoy it - they're lovely locos!

Jon.

I'm after a 2095 too, but fund are a bit depleted at the mo.

Grootspoor have one in their 2nd hand section James. MTS fitted too 249 Euros (about £217). Delivery is usually around £22 so £239 all in.

Description on the site is as follows:-

The Locomotive is altered, see picture
Without original box
In very good condition
With decoder for the multy Train system (MTS), also runs on a analoge system
With 12 month full warranty
Without soundmodule

You know, looking at the original two pics that James posted at the start of this thread, I'd never actually noticed before (even though I have one!) that the crank rods on the new orange/cream 2095 are all-red plastic, rather than the silver with red inlay trim of all the older versions.... &:

That Grootspoor one is a good price but has been in stock with them for some time, it looks nice so I can only assume it's because it's been slightly modified (from the photo, it's been personalised for the previous owner's railway) - still, with your modelling skills, James, I'm sure you could quite happily repaint it anyway to fit your line?

Jon.

Dutchelm (Mike) has sorted me out - a grand chap indeed. I'll be getting the 1970s liveried version in a fortnight when I drive past on my way down to Weymouth.

Thanks to all - and to the forum in general. As usual it's come up trumps!
