Hsb Rollböcke

I might just have to pretend that some remote railway had a set.
Why not? That there were 2 lines that used them in UK is somewhat odd, but they did serve a purpose on the Leek and Manifold at 2'6" Gauge. After the closure of the L&M they went to the Ashover where I believe the performance on the 2ft Gauge was not so good. So perhaps if your concept is 75cm or above it would be believable.

Yeah the L&M ones were wagons, more along the lines of the Austrian wagons, rather than the simple bogies here.

GRS used to make a kit of the L&M wagons - don't know if it still features in their much reduced catalogue.

Edit: - yes it does, in the 45mm section :)

A few picks of the actual ones on the Harz.DSC04927 (Medium).JPG

They had on brakes so were usually marshalled between brake vehicles with high level buffers.

Occasionally - standard gauge bogie wagons on modern roll blocks.. Their own ballast come from the quarry and they use standard gauge hopper wagons on roll wagons.

Yes the L&M ones are more akin to the type known as Rollwagen in Europe and the HSB have them too. The Rollbocke are slightly different in being separate bogies.

Yeah, James Hilton made a rollwagen

There seems to be a slight mix up with couplers. Roll blocks did not use coupling bars (they located on the axles of the standard gauge ) where as the roll wagons did.

Ok I based it on an article

And photos of other lines Rollböcke as I only had pics using the buffers on the HSB.

This HSB converter also suggests they could as its equipped with buffers and the pin coupler.

And just out of interest the modern version also available as a model.

Hm yes I am mixing my Rollblock and Rollwagens. The English ones were indeed Rollwagens. Hangs head in shame.

I have seen odd pics of Rollblock being moved around without SG Wagons on. I am pretty sure that they had some kind of Bar on them. But I do think that it makes sense as Paul has done to have an Intermediate Bar for Model Purposes. However as I had problems with the Bars on mine on slightly less than perfect Track in the Garden wonder how they will perform in service. I am probably going to make up some Universals (1 to each Bar) to get the Twist sorted on my Rollwagen Coupling Bars. My original Single Twiddle Structure on the Bars did not quite do the Job.

?? Ah, sorted it!

Had to look at the axle-box picture three times, and read the text twice! But I got there!!
