I model the RhB railway and these are an attempt to model their low platforms.
I used XPS foam for these platforms. The edge detail is carved in and painted. The top surface will be gravel dust secured with SBR, same as the section beside the siding.
You can see the unpainted section on the left top.
These have been down half a year or so. I diluted the SBR too much at this end, you can see the dust has come off in sections.
The other end is good.
