Has anybody any experience ordering from this store? Went through to confirm order, thinking it would ask for payment details. Instead it just said order confirmed. Then an email was received that reads as wibble..... So now we're in limbo.

Yes, I have ordered from Bertram Heyn.

He does speak reasonable English. You could try an email to him....

I've just created an account after initially checking out as a guest. My order is there, so I'll see what happens.
 
I’ve ordered from Heyn in the past. Bertram is very helpful and produces some excellent stuff. I would recommend him.
 
The owner of Bertram has changed. Now it is Sven Binnewald. I met him at the big exibition / Dortmund. Bertram Heyn sometimes does work still in the background. Yesterday a friend if mine ordered som brass details for my new tram session.vAt Dortmund he was helpfull to me and my friend said, that he did also on the phone.
Ok, we are naitives. Because we speak German. How his English knowlegde is, I don't know,

Hi,

I ordered a turntable from him, no problem with the order but it was not packed very well and had to go back for repair. Excepting that all was very good.

And yes I will agree his English is a lot better than my German as well.
 
Glad it worked out. I have bought loads of bits from Bertram and a couple of orders just as Sven was taking over. Invaluable shop for anyone modelling German railways. Good to hear that it is still available. I too struggle to learn German and am embarrassed by the kn
 
I keep looking at their sleeper packs so would be interested in seeing others who have used them……..

It must be the way we were taught languages at school, but pretty much European wide, the citizens' grasp of English is fantastic. Most of the people I know who can speak French or German are no way as near as fluent as most French or Germans who speak English

The problem is that the English expect everyone else speaks English.
