The advantages of a fine Easter weekend is time for trains...we like [strike]playing[/strike] testing trains 
There seems to have been a few ballast trains over the long weekend.
Up over Nina's Trestle in the late afternoon sun...
past the Simplex positioning log bogies at the log loading siding at Punga Cliffs.

Kids at Kakariki School seem to spend a lot of time in the playground!
I think the Parents & Friends from Kakariki School have installed some Panda Bear and Water Buffow climbing toys outside the school grounds, I mean the can't be real or else they would be running away from the trains
Later in the day and a load of logs was need to be run down from Punga Cliffs to the invisible sawmill at Kakariki.

And fear not the Dubs A is still seen when saw timber needs to be taken to the outside world. Seen here through the trees on H&M's farm scene.

The Climax has also been at work....
I think it's the new log hauler that has lifted the number of logs that can be pulled from the bush that is responsible for the increase in activity.
Though as the photographer has trekked up the hill for a long range view, I get the feeling there thankfully is still a lot of bush that will never be felled by our conservation minded woodsmen.

Thanks as always guys it gives me great pleasure being able to share, at lest in pictures, our railway with my mates
Fitted in a run with the Leader today, had to much fun just sitting back enjoying the steam to take pictures (and the light was a bit weak anyway for in action shots) so there is just one from while raising steam....
and at the end of the run some 35 to 40 minutes later. Leader now has some Locoworks valve chest covers fitted which imporves the looks, though the looks are only temporary till I start the new body for it.

John love the log loading area. Thats whats so great about a garden RR, always something to add and detail. I must have been reading your mind, I just added a roof to my steam donkey as well. really makes a difference. Your Lumberjack looks great as a logging engine.
I tried taking my Lumberjack out on the line but still too cold out. Fire has a hard time keeping up. But it does look great on my line. It does not like running in the cold even with butan/propane mix. Going to try and run a stem line around the tank to help warm it up or move the tank to the side next to the boiler. I did run it at the East Coast Large Scale tTrain Show last week. It ran great. But not the same as on a garden layout.
Im in the process of adding an operating saw blade on my sawmill using A Mamod traction engine.
I tried taking my Lumberjack out on the line but still too cold out. Fire has a hard time keeping up. But it does look great on my line. After a day of domestic duties I got an hour or so of "me" time. Thought is about time the Dubs got a bit more run time, so in accompaniment of the Bush Jigger...
