What fun! An interesting range of 'toys' there and that crane is fascinating.

And to top it off, he eats the cake with a shovel!!

The tee-shirt was appropriate, as well. :giggle::giggle:

Could one of our ?German? speakers comment on whether there is anything in the text, or commentary, about the source of the trains? - They seem quite clever, with the direction and drive control. Lot's of 'play' value.

Interesting and quick method to lay a line, would do barrier underneath the plastic slabs to deter weeds. Suggest bkack builders plastic sheet, more effective at deterring persistent weeds though odd ones may still seed in the stones bit if quickly removed before seeding should be easy to manage. Good point about weed control. The plastic slabs were the only thing notable about it to me. I wish they would have put the bridge over the pond, and had an emphasis on scale plants. They could have also put a tunnel through the ruin.

All that would have been good, but I guess that there is a limit to what they can do in the program time for the show.

A very quick way of building a line, but as Jon said a weed barrier would be a must, plus of course the ground must be prettysolid underneath.
Charlie has certainly increasedher profile since the old Ground Force days

1st link to a series of 4 vids on Chinese Coal Mine Railways, I cannot believe that any of these are still on the go now but who knows? Looked at the areas in Google Earth and no signs of such heavy Industry but well may still be some of it left. The first 2ft line is a stonker and the Truck motive power going round what would likely be LGB R1 curves if made in near 7/8th scale would be amazing and likely busy. The second at near 2’6” Gauge is a much heavier operation. Still great to see though.

As you do surfing YT I noticed something Harry Potterish, now this girl is really irritating when she talks however one cannot but admire her Modeling Skills. There is lots to learn here for that indoor diorama or perhaps outdoors as well. Just take a look at what and how she has made this Diagon Alley scene. Perfect.

Yet another Diagon Alley scene, this time in a Matchbox - lady but not at all irritating, superb works that shows what can be done in a small scale. Should be easy to scale up.

I discovered this link from the Surry Group’s Oily Rag of June 2001 that I finally got round to reading last night! Interesting links though not fantastically historical there are some very good pictures and one in Poland shows a glimpse of a former (presumably) PkP NG BoBo Diesel.

I often hear people having problems with Soldering. This Vid will perhaps give some the confidence to not only give Soldering a go but also perhaps get it right. However one thing they do not mention is soldering G Scale Track, trick is you need a good powerful Iron 70 watts or above is what you need for that, but the principles demonstrated in the vid hold good.
