Hi all, I have the titled item unused from when I was going to model N-Gage.
My question is...... before I get rid of it, is it powerful enough to run my G-Gage locos ?

I am probably only building two tracks to start with but hope to add sidings etc, I realise decoders are not cheap at this scale am thinking of adding lights to my Thomas locos and maybe sound...

Cheers Andy.

MRC Prodigy (the Gaugemaster is a re-badge) supports up to 3.5 amps at 14V. It is intended for smaller scales, MRC recommend a power booster for larger scales. The current is enough for 2 or 3 typical LGB motors, but the voltage might be a bit low unless you have no intention of belting round at full speed.

That will be fine for one or two small loco's, on a smallish layout.. Any more 'volts' and they will fall-off on the corners! ;) :D ;D ;D

I use a Digitrax unit with similar specifications.. The only 'gotcha' is it does not necessarily speak fluent 'Massoth'!
Though I think many DCC systems have 'features' when you mix-and-match brands.

I used my old Prodigy on my Test Track for proving Locs that I had chipped up, if you do not need to sell it, keep it as a Tester. It worked OK on Locs even with 2 Motors or Chips.
