G SCALE DOODLEBUG WANTED

I can't recall such a beast in G scale by Bachmann. Are you sure you don't mean Hartland's Rail Motor Car or Doozie Rail Bus. I believe they are 1:24 scale.
Rail Motor Car
Doozie

AristoCraft made a similar looking Doozie and a Gas Electric Rail Car in 1:29 scale.

Aha! Yes, the AristoCraft Gas Electric Rail Car is the true doodlebug, usually a bigger beast than a rail bus. Good luck! :)

Personally, I like the Hartland rails a bit more than the Aristocraft model. It's smaller and looks more better with other large scale stock. If you decide on any rails and your search leads you toward the Hartland, don't confuse it with the Delton Doozie. The Delton Doozie is the basis for the Hartland model. When Delton went out of business, Hartland obtained their tooling and reissued the rails under the Hartland name. The motor block was redesigned and is much improved over the earlier Delton design. The Delton motor block has only one powered axle as opposed to the Hartland which has both axles powered.

If you find a Delton Doozie you can contact Hartland and they will sell you a motor block with instructions on how to do the switch. The fellow I spoke to at Hartland, when I did one a few years ago, was very helpful.

After the server issue....here we go again...
here's a doodlebug...missing marker lights and has been 'rewired', picks up track power only from motor bogie, trailing bogie has non aristo metal wheels.
Sliding door is now back in it's frames. Couplings also 'modified', all done by previous owner(s). No original box

have looked in a few places for the spare aristo marker lights I have stashed somewhere...there's a likely box right at the bottom in my shed....may take a while to excavate to that!
