Freds Garden Railway - the long way round

Thought I'd build something slightly useful.

A couple of friends called in today to help run trains but we were so busy chatting that few pictures were taken.

At Christmas and birthdays various members of the family have given me wagons etc. as presents. The three in the photo turned out to be American which didn't fit in well with the railway. I didn't want to spoil the originality of these three wagons in case I ever decided to re sell them. So I covered the original road names with small pieces of black plastic and fixed them with Blu Tac.

I've done a similar thing to some of my Hopper Wagons. Two of mine are lettered as OEG (which on my line is the Old English Gravel Co), so for the other 2 DBahn and the Silberhutt trucks, I made up some yellow sticky-back Vinyl labels with a simlar font to the OEG company, on a machine we have at work.

These days, Vinyls are prototypically used extensively on modern rolling stock. Most EMU/DMU and passenger coaching stock is liveried this way on UK TOCs, although I guess it wouldn't really be hard wearing enough on Freight stock, but in my case, it just looks like a quick repaint over the original rail firms's logos....

I see it is about a month since I last posted here so this pic is to let you know I am still running trains.

Some time has passed since I posted any updates on this thread as I have been saving all the new details for the articles in the Journal. Just thought I would post a pic or two.
