Fitting new traction tyres to my yellow Playmobil diesel.

A Stainz tyre was kindly donated by PhilP PhilP , and as promised my comparisons with a Playmobil tyre. The Stainz tyre is pale straw in colour, and the Playmobil tyre is black, the wheels are from a Playmobil 4010 Cargo, conclusion at the bottom:

The Stainz tyre is smaller in inside and out side diameter, but...

Thanks. I would say that the rings I've got (pictured) are a good match for the post linked to, for this older style locomotive. But for the newer 5258 set that I've got, I'm pretty sure the traction tyres need to be flatter, more like a classic elastic band. I assume these have different numbers, but aren't labeled up very clearly at Playmobil's office.

I phoned back today and they said that the style I want they can't get hold, so send these back for a refund.

My understanding is that for the battery powered Playmobil, the same traction tyre was used.

Jimmy, PM made battery powered locomotives/railcars with both plastic and metal driving wheeled powered chassis I think this is where the confusion arrises with each type needing different traction tyres by the look of things.
