This is a relatively easy install as the 65006 unit is designed specifically for this loco.
So the kit is available for less than £100 if you shop around in Germany online.

You need to undo 8 screws to take the body of the lok off the chassis.

The speaker fits in a pre formed housing with 4 screws and washers provided.

The new switch and volume control fit in the same place as the old switch.

Carefully follow the instructions for the connections onto the decoder and onto the new sound board.

If the loco has an address other than 3 you need to programme the sound board to match the lok address - I did mine on the track with my Massoth Unit after it was installed in the lok (make sure there are no other loks on the track).

Reassemble and ...... Test.

I've fitted one of these units to my 2901.03. The only problem is the function numbers are different to the 2901.004 with the onboard sound unit. Also there are 15 functions & the MTS only has 8. I would like to ditch things like announcements & replace with the engine start up. Can this be done.
The book refers to CVs 131 - 142 as F button assignments but the CVs don't seem to make sense.
Anyone help.
