First proper running day of 2014 on the WGLR

Having spent a couple of pleasant days clearing the track and checking for damage from all the rain we`ve had, I spent a couple of hours this afternoon running a proper service for the first time in 2014. These photos show the last up train of the day being put away for the night, ready to form the next morning`s first down service.

Due to it`s confined site, Gooey station has no run-round facility. Therefore, after No.4 bought it`s train into platform 1, diesel No.10 has to shunt the stock into platform 2 in order to release the steam loco.

Nice one Mel! That actually has just given me an idea. Off to take a look and a measure, see if it might fit.

Lovely pic's Mel, it seems a long time since you posted an update of the WGLR :)

Both locos are seen at the site of the old tram shed where their crews will prepare them ready to cross the mainline where they will be shedded for the night at Gooey depot.

Hooray :P Been waiting for some more photos ???

Nice to see the W&GLR again Mel....

looking Good Mel
that shot of No. 4 in #2 is cracking
Foggy Bottom maturing nicely too, including the moss

Great photos and encouraging to know that my thoughts on dealing with a station without room for a runaround are used by someone else.

Glad to see the W&GLR back up and running, looking forward to seeing some more stunning piccys during 2014.

It's always a pleasure to see the WGLR :)

Fantastic photos Mel good to see some trains running also had a train running yesterday :D

Cheers lads. TBH the last thing I made in 45mm was the bogie parcels van seen in these photos which I`m fairly sure I posted on here? Also made up a 32mm gauge train which I also posted, but other than that, I haven`t done much railway wise for about 5 months.

I did make this last week though - an Emhar 1/24 Bedford O series breakdown lorry kit. It`s got custom made decals ready for parking alongside Station Road Garage at the rear of Wetton station.

Mel, it is terrific to see your line operating again after the winter layoff. As you know, my line is yank (some might replace a consonant!) but I just love seeing pictures of your Brit based layout. It sparks off the new year.
Greta pics as usual

Magic pics (as usual) mel. Thanks.
