Any advice on what paint to use?

I'd undercoat with matt black then use acrylics - Vallejo make very good acrylic paints.

I used white car primer. Make sure figures are clean (free from any mould release agents). I then use artists (SWMBO's) acrylics. Probably not enough colour density.

I hope no-one takes any offence at this, because there is certainly none meant - but I just HAD to post a link to this, as probably the campest G-scale figure I've ever seen - the pose makes Julian Clary look like Stallone......

I find DAS clay fantastic stuff for sculpting figures. Let the legs and heads dry out before tackling the bodies though, makes them much more sturdy to work with. The terracotta colour clay gives a pretty good skin tone without having to paint it on
