Nothing pic worthy today, but the project does continue. I have filled various gaps with epoxy; waiting for it to cure thoroughly before I start of the first coat of paint.

It came to me that the station building lacked an essential element ...
... so I did a bit of Googling about chimney heights and positions, then found a piece of pine in my junk box and a saw, et voila ... The back wall is the only one with enough room for a fireplace.
I'll need a second one for the other room, but there is just enough pine
and stone sheet to wrap it.

First chimney in place.
Fairly sure 1:1 builders don't use this sort of scaffolding
. Chimney is epoxied to roof.
The second chimney is having its stone wrap applied.
Unsure how like the real thing these chimneys are, but at least they will give the building some character.

A-a-a-nd chimney #2, ready to set up overnight.
Next job is painting under the eaves before installing barge boards. I cannot use spray paint indoors, and it'll be too cold to do it outdoors for a month or two, so brushes it will be.

Where I'm at this morning. Two chimneys in place, a bit of trim work to do, then out with the paint brush for the eaves.

Found a small offcut of styrene sheet in the junk pile 
and trimmed the chimney tops.
Now have to find some thinner styrene for the flashing

Potted chimneys. I found some styrene tube that I'd bought years back for another unfinished 
project.

Set the loco shed aside for a day, and took paint to the station roof, 50/50 black & white. Will have to kill the gloss.
The walls are next, as close to the same shade as the loco shed as I can manage.
I also greyed the roof of the platelayers' shed, which had been black.

Mixed various hues to make a grey to paint the station walls.
It looks less plastic-y, at least.
Unfortunately, I did not achieve the same shade as the loco shed
, so I used the leftover station mix to adjust the shed.
The photo is greyer than what my eye sees. To the eye, the original shed shade shows up, especially in the mortar lines.
And the last drops in the dish I skimmed onto one wall of the platelayer's shed to lighten it up a bit.
So now I have to achieve the same mix for a second coat on the station and more shading on the sheds.

10 thou styrene "flashing" on the chimneys; the styrene cement sucked it into the "stone" contours; paint later. The chimneys and walls got a second coat of grey, lighter by a tad -- my paint mixing is totally random

The platelayers' hut got a skimming of the latest grey to tone down the umbers and siennas.
And the waiting room's foundation got the painting that I forgot on Friday.

Umbers, siennas and ochre, mixed with plenty of white. Dry brushed and finger smeared -- shades of kindergarten and finger paints

Canopy supports assembled and CA'd in place. The canopy is just sitting there for the moment.
I think I'll run fillets of epoxy down the edges to be sure.

Did a bit of painting in prep for taking the station building to OVAR tonight.
Canopy edge unpainted because I shall be making a valance and sticking it on there.
May paint the canopy supports green when I do the doors, green being the "company scheme".
I'm glad I finally got a round tuit for these projects.
I'll need a couple more tuits: I have a batch of wagon kits that need doing. But that'll be another story.

After a spot of yard cleanup today, I decided to take pics of the station building "in the landscape".
I think it will fit in quite well.
