February project

I bought these "miniature brass bar clamps" from my favourite woodworking hardware pusher years ago. Great for projects where full-size clamps would be overkill.
I got some similar in my Tool Box so are available in UK, though where from? Had them a long long time.

Yes, I'm awake, I'm awake! Started to install the window/door frames with 5-minute epoxy from the dollar store. Yes, they are inside out, to look as though they are inset in the "stone" walls.100_3033 copy.JPG 100_3034 copy.JPG

Oops . Don't tell Herself, but I've just found the styrene sheets that I went out to the hobby shop to replace the other day. I was looking for something else , which I also found.
Onward :nerd:.

Roofing commences. I used slow-cure epoxy to give me time to adjust the roof panel, so I'm going to leave it clamped down for 24 hours before I install the other half.

Then I shall paint the underside before gluing the roofing sheets to the outside.
And then the exterior painting.

That is looking good.
Might be worth putting some waterproof feet on it so it is not resting on a damp surface all its life.

Looking for something else in the chaos of my workroom, I dug out my other Jackson's Miniatures kit. The siding is somewhere.
So, an additional project.

That's why I epoxied the ABS angle to the bottom of the walls, but it might indeed be a good idea to have feet as well to keep it off the planks.

Roofing. Yes, it should probably be "slate" sheet, but I couldn't find any in 1/24, so "shingles" it is ...

... and painted a slatey colour it will be

Waiting for the glue to cure on the station building roof, so I found the "corrugated" sheet that I had squirrelled away and roofed the waiting room.

Stockers may note that this building has a "foundation" of 3/8" square ABS tube to keep the MDF off the ground. I sealed the open ends of the tube with epoxy, and I'll cover the tube with offcuts from the "stone" sheets I used for the station building walls.

First Friday morning steps :yawn::

Half-round ABS moulding for a ridge cap. I was going out to buy some, then my one remaining little grey cell fired up at midnight and I remembered the ones I've had for years, buried in an " I'll-need-it-one-day" box.

First piece of siding glued onto the back of the waiting room.

This the easy side ;). No windows/doors to work around.

And finally, the front. Very fiddly. I think I got as much adhesive where I don't want it as where it needed to be .

Have to find the paint and do over

Last one of the day, I think. Ridge cap on the waiting room.

Time to let the adhesives cure overnight, I think.
Gee, that's an awful lot of thinking. The little grey cell is just about out of juice o_O
