I can now confirm that my minds eye, is not talking to my hands.

Started to remodel the station throat/MPD area, at the weekend.

Using the measure twice, cut once, and still make a pigs ear of it rule of track laying.
I gave up in the end and decided to make use of the portable BBQ, well it's the only place in the shed I can store the lengths of track left to use.
I'll give it a few days, and go back to it.

So I am now going back to those lights, looking for 4mm with a 0.5mm side thickness tube to slot onto the 3mm outer tube, and for a fancy bit at the bottom, some of those hexagonal standoff spacers, used for mounting pcb's.

Can anyone tell me if the female version is hollow all the way through, so I can run the wires?

Most of the female stand-offs are threaded right the way through, yes..
 
As reported elsewhere, I looked to be going to have to make a short R 1.7658912 ish. curve, turns out I underestimated the curve, it's more like a R 2.85768 ish curve.

All I need to do now, apart from re lay the MPD, figure who's bright idea it was to cement in the power feeds, and then move them.

Yesterday, after sacking the bloke who cemented in the power feeds, and then re employing him.
It was time to sort out the those feeds, one of those be done in a jiffy jobs, well ages later this...

My thinking is better connect it to an ordinary piece of track so that the points can be lifted for work if necessary, and leave the connection in tact.
Cutting the ends of the sleeper on the short section, gets the wires to curve, and those three piece clamps.

I need to have a serious conversation with my minds eye, as it is not working out.:confused:
 
I hope you docked his pay as well as sacking him..
 
Yep, he is now on 3/4 rate, so that's 75% of nowt = hang on he is still on same rate. :confused:;)

The revised station throat, has been re revised.

The only potential problem is the swing overhang from the inner track onto the bridge, so it needed a clearance test, longest coach, loco with widest overhang.

It looks tighter than it actually is, but it's not a high speed junction.

What was needed was a under power test, as I could not be bothered to set up the controller, I lashed up a temporary 18v DC supply, it works for me. ;)

Yep, use the battery connector to connect the two together, twist the wire ends together, and then turn over and wedge between the rails, instant 18 v.
Mind you whilst it is easy to change direction, by turning it the other way, speed control is a non starter. ;)

BTW

Looking at that last pic, can you spot what I missed when I cleared up?

You're on the right line with screw, a 2mm dia. aristo fishplate screw I must have dropped, but it's not missing, not now that I have seen and picked it up.

Hate to say this but you could have done with a 150mm straight before the Bridge. About the amount you have cut out to facilitate the Bridge me thinks! But of course that will mess up the other end!

Ok then, how about a compromise 70 mm, and it only took just over an hour to re jig it all. ;)

Can not get one of the bridge clamps to re fit, without twisting the rail head out of alignment, so it's a another compromise it's a massoth clamp now.
Plus one fishplate screw on the inner loop won't fit as well, but it can do with out it. I think the technical term is sod it.
