DR Paint colours

Hi All

I'm looking to repaint some of my LGB wagons into a less garish colours, DR Red or Green preferred.

Can anyone suggest a suitable supplier? I'm aware of the RAL codes but would rather get ready sourced ones if possible.

Unfortunately id like to get a near representation of the Deutsche Reich Bahn colours as possible, I see that Phoenix have some roundhouse colours which have some colours on the RAL DR paint codes I've seen however not the Green or the Freight Brown.

For Brown I have been using Halfords Red matt undercoat more of a red oxide. For green I have used Ford Laurel Green. There are always queries about colours here, many options have been suggested but colour is not such a precise thing as we would imagine as LGB Brown wagons and coaches over the years will show. On the real thing colours fade over time with weather plus dirt, mixes are not always precise at the factory on the real thing either. So I do not get that worried and feel a few varieties of shades actually represents the real thing nicely.

If you have the RAL codes then an automotive paint specialist trade supplier can usually mix up the colour for you. They usually will have an option for 500 ml rattle cans available. Usually not too expensive. Same fos BS and Pantone references too. Max

I have used Riolet of Milton Keynes ordered using the RAL colour codes. You can choose the level of Matt. They are not cheap but have been very reliable and I have been pleased with results. I have ordered and used freight oxide, passenger stock green and roof grey. i have made 2 or 3 orders. I have painted a lot of wagons and quite a few coaches.
