As the suggestion of a Deltic has been mentioned, but it's too big and has too many wheels.

How about the smaller "Baby" version, of the Deltic... AKA Class 23........

You'd have to make sure it didn't run very well, in keeping with the real thing

There is a plan to build a replica, it involves the only remaining engine, and a sort of cut and shut on a class 37.....
wellineverdid. Best of luck to them, I wish them well. One day somebody is going to suggest building a replica of DP2, well, all you need is a Deltic body, and put whatever you want inside, even a Lada engine will do.

Very neat

Another awe inspiring model ! you got to try a Hymek ( class 35 ) next. to my eye the best looking British B-B , or bo bo of all, especially in the 2 tone green livery
Well done
Cheers Garry.
P.S. Failing that a Clayton ( Class 17 ) or see the rail. blue website for inspiration

Ill keep going on the 20 for now !!

I've been trying to decide on the best (read cheapest) way of making handrails with brackets, and finally settled on plastic rod.

Start with several short and long lengths

Then after filling a notch in the end of the long pieces a short piece is glued across to make a "T"

When dry the cross bar of the "T" is filed to be flush with the leg, at this point it doesn't look like "T" anymore (see the one on its own on the right)

After drilling holes in the body to push the hand rail holder in the rail is threaded through the ends

The hand rails on the face were much easy, just bend and fit into pre drilled holes

I use split pins, I can get three out of each split pin and as they a re about 200 to a £1 thats 600, I wrap them around a bit of rod then fix in place with thick glue

For the handrails on my boxcab i used brass wire with a small brass washer super-glued on where the wire goes into the body work:
