Gavin Sowry
Garden Railroader and Raconteur

That's the one I have JD.
I've one of the other buildings as well....
What are they like scale wise? I know it is whimsy, but does it 'look right'?

If Gizzy does not beat me to it I will post a pic when mine arrives, complete with an LGB figure to give scaling. What are they like scale wise? I know it is whimsy, but does it 'look right'?
They are a little bit below scale for LGB Gavin, but with careful placement, they will look okay I reckon? And yes they are a little twee too! What are they like scale wise? I know it is whimsy, but does it 'look right'?
They'll probably be fine after a few months of weather. They are a little bit below scale for LGB Gavin, but with careful placement, they will look okay I reckon? And yes they are a little twee too!
Hopefully Dunny can post a picture for you with an LGB figure, as I am unable to do so atm....
Sadly war gamers talk about Suze rather than scale so the ones shown above will be way too small for us. On this link they show Resistance Fighters and even a Cafe owner but again at 28mm high far too small again.

Found this from Fred’s link above.
Yep, as part of the Wargames industry myself, I can confirm that when "we" (wargamers AND military modellers/figure collectors) talk about scales, we mean the height from foot-to-eye-level of a typical 5'9" human - so a figure described as "25mm" will actually be about 27-28mm to the top of its head/helmet. That's why the Phoenix French Maid in my pics above is described as "90mm" scale.....
"15mm" in figure scale = approx. 1/100, "20mm" about 1/76, "28mm" approx. 1/60, "54mm" is 1/32..... for figures suitable for G you need to look for anything with a scale listed around 75mm to 90mm (though the top end of that is closer to what you'd use for 16mm/ft).
Yes, it's horribly complicated......
Jon.
And we thought G scale was bad . . .That's why the Phoenix French Maid in my pics above is described as "90mm" scale.....
Are the poor buggers stretched with a rubber ruler?
I Googled “Mascot Miniature” images....good job Mary Whitehouse isn’t still around, we’d all be in trouble...
Maybe your google isn't the same as mine, but all I got was a zillion of these cartoon characters.I Googled “Mascot Miniature” images...
Gizzy (and anyone else interested), the old Phoenix Follies range - including the Maid figure that I have - are still available here, they're not cheap at about 35 Euros a pop, but if you REALLY want one then here they are...

What I have not found is whether the figures are delivered painted, probably somewhere on the site. However if they are painted for the level of detail and quality of painting they would appear to be good value. Good quality paint jobs on figures do not come cheeep.Gizzy (and anyone else interested), the old Phoenix Follies range - including the Maid figure that I have - are still available here, they're not cheap at about 35 Euros a pop, but if you REALLY want one then here they are...
