Cafe Rene

Thought as much, have a superb Dragon from the same stable dating from my DnD days back in the early 80's. Had a couple of nice figures that my then lady painted superbly. Prices have gone way up, but quality castings were never cheep.

So after all the excitement about the varying figures my Cafe arrived just now, a few pics and you can see that it is a little in the small side. However with some careful placing to the rear of the layout it will give some false perspective especially if some smaller (allo allo) figures can be sourced to fit in with the scene.

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this, thinking that it would only be a half relief effort. I do rather like the removable Solar Units and wonder if these could be sourced from anywhere having all sorts of uses in Buildings albeit with some mods. The lights have a White Option or Colour which rotates around varying different colours, probably a little twee for continuous use. image.jpeg
The final shot shows the other items in this range fro Robert Dyas. I rather like the Elvedon Manor as it has a sort of Continental Castle look about it and may well be getting one of these if I can. Again it will be planted on a Hilll somewhere a little behind the Track for perspective. I am sure that the Coach House can find use on an English based layout. Not so sure about the other 3 items, but if twee is your thing why not?

Well found Gizzy.

Thanks JD.

I also have the Coach House as well as 'Café Rene'. These buildings which were all brought by my better half will be placed along with the others from Vivid in the village, which we will be naming 'Twee Town'!

So therefore, most appropriate....

I decided to get an Elvedon Manor which arrived just now, superb service by Keengardener and SPD Delivery. Have to say the Manor is quite small but similar in size to Cafe Renne. It will be placed well back from Track on a Mountain so should look ok in the Garden. Here is a pic with the smallish Chineese Lady again, I reckon this is closer to 0 Gauge in size.

She looks a good size. Due to heightened awareness (!) I have been keeping my eyes open and found a few more figures on various eBay's around the world. Including this "school marm" who is quite the opposite of a Cafe Rene figure. Supposed to be 90mm, or 3.5" tall, which should put her in the 1:19 bracket.
