Very impressive progress, Jerry - really sorry I won't be able to make it to your Grand Opening Day!

If the "mountain" infills are going to be next year's project, you'll have to watch your speeds on the raised track until then - I'd hate to see a derailment..... ;)

"He was comin' down the line making ninety miles an hour, and the whistle broke into a scream,
They found him in the wreck with his hand upon the throttle, he'd been scalded to death by the steam....." :D

A few pic's of the latest developments on the San Juan Central. The decking timber arrived Tuesday afternoon, so its been full steam ahead since then. Mind you the rain hasn't helped.

Hi Chris the sides of the supports will be covered in with wire netting which will then be covered with hessian and cement to make mountains a la granddad gome. The centres of the complete loops will also be covered in mountains, so that will leave three open areas which will be grass/hardstanding
65fe78f184024d0382039d66d38a4e63.jpg

There is an approximately two meter wide path around all sides the green area will be grass/hardstanding the brown the mountains. The mountains will be fine tuned as we build so that we can get easy access to the tracks
