Borracho Locomotive Works Recent Projects

Just a few pics of what I've been working on. Climax type engine for the pizza layout. Not powered, will rely on the pusher cars.

A quick LBH Bash, adding a fuel bunker at the rear, bad pic sorry, still need to add the siderods.

Started this one a while ago, but a 0-4-2 LBH bash, needs weathering.

This is a recent LBH bash adding a full canopy as a backwoods logging critter, also needs siderods added.

The yellow LBH car in the pic is a railbus bash using an LGB powered tender chassis, haven't gotten pics yet.

I have always though that the Bachman shorty stuff had lots of appeal for bashing as you have ably shown here. Great jobs and look forward tomthe finished weathered results.

I recently found this little baby, perhaps inspiration for you.

Allegedly built for use in building hilly area's of SanFancisco then ended up on a logging line. This is not what it appears but is a Geared Drive Loco, certainly not a Shay, Climax or Heisler. But geared drive locs did exist over the years and by all accounts this one was pretty successful. Super prototype for an LGB or Bachman bash.

It's called a Falk locomotive. they are often seen with a winch on the pilot beam that is driven off the boiler steam. Accucraft make one in Fn3 electric. Rather odd, but has a certain charm that I find easy to resist.

Not a "Falk" - Falk No,1 is a specific locomotive (only one of its specification) which survives at Fort Humbolt Park in California (Steam Locomotive Information). It does however have a gypsy winch in front of the smokebox - Bowande made a 45mm gauge Fn3 (1:20.3) live steam version which is a bit of a cheat as the prototype is standard gauge.
