Just finished weathering the Dozer today don't have a air brush like Mel so used a mix of paints on a sponge seems to have worked well followed with some weathering powders for rust . Have also added a bit of undergrowth to areas which might get caught up with in the woods and on the deck of the flat car
Just need to find some chain to hold the dozer in place job done

Went for the old weathered look of the dozer to match the weathered look of the Beaver Tail Flat car . As the flat car was built for the dozer so if the dozer was clean the flat car would have to be clean too. Had a look at the old tractors at work they look much the same as this with loads of rust and mud with weeds growing out the roof . With the seat i might try to make it looked ripped with foam hanging out .

Bulldozer measures 4 1/2" wide 4 1/2" high 8" long . About 1:20 scale
1:32 scale is true gauge One but would suit your USA Trains locos of 1:29 scale

Just caught up on the threqad, that is a great job Richie, It looks awsome now its weathered.

I think a rake of 20 of them is needed now.

nice mate.... one little observation, the blade tends to be polished in appearence from use..... but very good still.

Used that Matt Varnish you gave me works a treat will try it on my plow's tender now that i've tested it

Many thanks for the observation with the blade have just this minute rubbed some silver paint with a sponge down the front and sides of the blade ,just working on the seat now using some old foam which i will paint .

Have ran out of chain so will get some next time i'm out with the ramp they just use a few logs that they have just cut down nothing posh like ramps for this log train

Just seen a very good use of a spare flat car...turned into a gondola by use of styrene strips with slightly bevelled edges to make the grooves.
Sides and ends 3 "planks" high and the whole fitted with strakes. Nice. Should take an evening to do.

Built a low sided gondola not too long ago from a Bachmann flat car using wood strips rubbed down with sandpaper to give a well worn look .
