Bachmann geared Locos - advice for a novice please

Thanks all for the feedback re these geared Locos. I now have a plan and a much better understanding of what to look out for in my search. Enjoyed the diversions into banjo and guitar insider lingo also (not that I understood any of it!

Hi Fitz, I'll chime in too, the Bachmanns do need some maintenance on the gearbox and chassis. My K27, Heisler, Climax, Mallet, C19, and Shay are partly over 10 years old and run like new.

I recognise always need for regular maintenance on anything mechanical with moving parts. Thanks
