Riograndad
Model Railroading, boats and oil painting,

Hi all, latest little bash, very much work in progress but coming on quite well, picked it up secondhand(don`t know why was in shop and just ended up on my debit card)I got it home ages ago and just did`nt like it.It sat in the cupboard and as some time off and weather outside too wet n windy to do much I thought maybe a look at bashing the little beastie,as it needed to look more like a US loco,I have the idea its possible it was an import and modified by the railroad to suit its needs,After removing all the raised details(rivets etc)the cab was covered in 40 thou black plasticard to give a full cab to do away with the narrow roof on the original model, also side front windows added together with frames to front to do away with the oval windows, side sheets cut to suit but left the back window as was, handrails kept and reused, bell is a stainz item, smoke stack modified by cutting the round "box" spark arrestor off to give a short straight stack, front coupling taken off so front pilot could be attached, few extra pipes added here and there covered in black heatshrink as it looks better
.The dummy headlight is from spares box,no idea of its origin, the driver is a modified LGB figure to fit, some more rivets, nuts and bolt details to go on,some more pipework under the cab maybe, lettering paint and weathering should see it done
.I think it has a Mexican/South American feel about it,see how it turns out, with all the mods still won`t pull the skin off a rice puddin so I suppose will have to build some cars for it now?!
