Am I look at this right? Massoth DCC Onboard Adapter outputs

So I recently bought a Massoth XLS decoder and a DCC Onboard Adapter,
I know a lot of people told me not to go down this route and either hard wire or go with ESU brand and such.
But I feel more comfortable with with this set up, (least I can mostly convert the loco back to it's original board if I mess up.)

Anyway the XLS decoder saids the smoke is set to button 7 which is linked to Output F1
But the DCC Onboard Adapter says smoke is F2.
I'm guessing I need to change which Function output is linked to button 7 somehow?




If I read the "The Dummies Guide. - Cv's - Massoth" correctly.
I need to change CV 56 value to 7?
But I thought I'd better confirm it with someone before I go about messing with CVs I'm not familiar with.

Another question.
Does anyone know what the 2 light blueish pin ports called "Plug" are for?
The Massoth guide doesn't really give any information on their function.
Are they what you link the LGB's multiports for coach lighting and such?

Yes CV56 sets the Key used for A2.

However, as you are using an XLS, you could just swap the blue wires around on the decoder end of the 10pin cable.
The Blue plugs are for the loco's aux power sockets (for coach lighting etc) found on the rear or either end of the loco.

Hi - Did you get the Massoth Adapter Board and XLS sound decoder installed an operating properly. As you've found out, the F Keys to operate your devices such as smoker, lights and sounds are controlled by the XLS decoder, not the Adapter Board. So, F7 is the default on Massoth decoders for the smoker activation. You can change F Key assignments by looking at the F Key Assignment Sheet that came with the specific sound file installed on your XLS decoder. You'll see the F Key assignment CVs listed for each sound and function: To change an F Key to another F Key, you must turn off the sound for the specific F Key first, then you can assign another sound to it.
