Adverts are totally ruining the forum experience on mobile

Glad to see the rogue heaters have now disappeared from the forum ads, but it took me a few seconds to process this one. Military grade heat shrink boots conjured up all sorts of ideas

I thought they looked like lamp shades at the start, clearly AI has not got to grips with the finer art of advertising and linking thencorrect meaningful pictures.
 
Having used them many times working on aircraft I knew exactly what the were.
Used to provide strain relief for plug wiring, provide waterproofing of plug backshell to cable insertion plus many other applications. If you search for "heat shrink boots" you will find heaps of electrical sites selling them.
Most of the ones I used were dual wall heatshrink the same stuff that I use for my cable joins out in the garden.

Oh so not shoes for walking then, they certainly did not look like that but the description…..English at times can be a very imprecise language, add other side of the pond meanings of things and life gets very complex.
 
I run AdBlocker on my computer but have disabled it for this site. It does mean I see a lot of adverts but can live with that however I'm also getting the occasional message from gscalecentral saying that they have detected I run an Adblocker and please don't do it. These messages often have adverts either side!

Because the adverts pay for the site, unless you contribute. Your ad blocker is stopping the site from obtaining payments from the advertisers.

As I said I have disabled it for this site and the messages I get often have adverts around them. I am not complaining just a little intrigued.

Possibly because the website is recognizing the blocker before the blocker realizes the website is on its ignore list?

My guess would be the forum software can detect an add-blocker is present on the machine, but has no way of knowing that the forum software is allowed to display adverts?
