A Stainz for Christmas?

Oh dear! Another mad idea, and another UFO (Un-Finished Object) for the collection!

The idea is to build myself a `Christmas Loco` as a backup for what we run at Chasewater. - Well, that is my excuse! ::) ;)
This tender, and `kit of parts` came my way..

The tender has sound. There is a `basic` sound board, and inner roof for the loco as well..
A big bonus, is the tender has a full(?) set of overlays for the sides of the tank in the box. Including a `Christmas` themed set. - Result.

The rear edge of the painted sides on the tender is a little raqged, but that can be disguised with judicious use of decoration.

The Stainz has already been painted a brown / ?red oxide? type colour. - Decent job made of the highlights on the boiler..

I now have to decide if the tender stays that shade of red, and if the cab changed to a similar shade of red..

Just you remember that a Stainz isn't just for Christmas, its for life. We don't want to see this little engine abandoned in Chasewater on Boxing Day 'cos the novelty has worn off......

By Boxing Day we are pretty 'Santa'd out'!
We do do it all again New Year, as an anti-dote to the excesses of the season... ;)

Chasewater do things a little differently to most railways. - They tend to put Santa on the train.. We run the train trip, then they come in to see Santa in his grotto.
We try to 'add' something each year.. This year will involve the local G scale fire department! ;) ;)
