Is anyone successfully using a 55045 module on a PC running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1? Converting from an RS232 to usb isn't a problem but I was wondering if the software works under the modern versions of Windows?

I believe the LGB software will work under 32bit Windows 7. The setup mechanism is not liked by Windows 7 64bit, if I recall correctly.

You can always use the Massoth Programmer software (available from the Massoth download centre) with the 55045 module.

I've been unable to get the LGB software to work on W7 (64 bit). I now use the 55045 with the Massoth software. It's different but you get used to it.

No problem but LGB software is 32bit I run windows 7 on 32bit with 55045 no problem you can also run Massoth software on 32bit witch I also do. This is a 2nd computer just for my railway programs with no security and no internet connection. :)

Can't help you with Win 7, 8, or 8.1, but I was running my layout on an old laptop running XP.

I only use the old lappy for my railway (plus a few other odds and ends) with LGB MTS 6.0 software.

LGB software was written by Stellwerk, and they did later versions which run on later Win OS.

Here's the linky....

Didn't have massive success so put a copy of XP onto Virtual Box and run the LGB software from there.
