Zimo's new MX699 decoder

I just finished an installation of the new Zimo MX699 decoder I bought from TrainLi in an old LGB 2080 steam loco. The addition of the on board super caps is great. On my test track I cover one rail with about 1 foot of electrical tape. At speed step 6 it crossed without any problem. The lights flicker a little but the sound and motion do not loose a beat. I then took it out on my layout with another LGB 2080 with a MX695 and was very pleased with the difference though dirty uncleaned track. The pin version should plug right into the new LGB/Marklin socket. I will try one of those next and report back.

Looking forward to the report on this, another option to the LGB, Massoth and ESU versions for the new interface.
 
What is the size of the board with the super caps?
 
The ESU Lokpilot XL V4 has Super Caps in board too. You con set by a CV the time for power supply.
It has no sound onboard but you can connect a sound module (Uhlenbrock for example) by SUSI interface !
Decoder about 60€
Sound 40€
With this configuration you con save about 80€ and it work vero well !
I bought them in Bessere Prece or by fertig modellbahnen

I'm thinking about fitting one of these to my V200 as in addition to the usual Zimo stuff like cab lights that go off automatically when the loco moves etc this decoder has two independent smoke fan controllers on board.
These will drive Proline pulsing smoke units which come in at around £45 each.

where are you getting Proline smoke units from please?
 
I used the proline smoke unit with mine. I found the 5v connection to be a bit less than I wanted so I hooked it to the 10v and dimmed it a bit. Much better results.
