YORK now has 3 Model Railway Shops

I was alerted to an additional one in York by a Local Friend just recently. The 3 Shops are:-
1 Monk Bar Model Shop - Predominantly deals with the smaller Gauges 00 and below. Located right by Monk Bar.
2 P&S Hobbies and Models - Has been reviewed on here before, deals with Model Planes and Vehicles but also LGB and other G Scale. Located at 4 Walmgate.
3 Cutty Blacks - The new kid on the block, also located in Walmgate but right down the other end by Walmgate Bar but within the City Walls. Predominantly N, 00 and 0. But does have some G Thonam and Aristo. Very friendly Shop. May get a Coffee if you get them when quiet.


Occures to me if you were doing a bash round York. You could go to Monk Bar located on the Left by the Bar as you walk out from the Minster, then Walk Clockwise round the City Wall to Walmgate Bar. You do loose the wall for a bit round Foss Island but still an interesting Walk. Do Cutty Blacks, just on the Right after you come off the Wall. Then continue down Walmgate back into Town doing P&S on the way back, they are on the Right just before you cross the Foss. Make a nice detour.

Yes there are al least 3 worth stopping at on the he way back into Town!

Thanks for the heads up; I didn't know about the new one. I have to go to York for the wife's Christmas present, so I can visit there too.
