I'm quite good at bashes to myself, but whether I can bash a loco is another matter!Looking forward to that. Always interested in others' bashes.

It's amazing how the primer pulls it all together (and highlights the imperfections).Lots more done there, Rik..
I can never see past the 'mess' of bits and odd colours.. I only seem to 'get it' once it has a unifying coat of primer applied.![]()
Even without the primer you're on a winner there mate. It's amazing how the primer pulls it all together (and highlights the imperfections).

He also supplies some additional weight, being whitemetal. I might replace him with another driver with arms in a different position so he looks more natural when I swivel him for reverse driving. With the black figure it reminds me of some locos in museums.
Thanks HenriThe works!!
Thanks Alan - much appreciatedAbsolutely brilliant.
It certainly is isn't it? Can't see the donor loco in that at all.Absolutely brilliant.
No one would have thought so, until you mentioned it! It looks fineThanks folks. Just trying to decide if the spectacle plate needs to be raised a few mm - comparing my model with the original it looks a bit low. It would be a major job, so may just live with it.

WOW!Part 12 - Emerging from the paint shop
Her first outing from the paintshop.

I decided the spectacle plate was too low and so raised it by around 8mm. It was a bit of an effort but I feel happier now that she looks a little more like the original - slightly ungainly and, as someone said, slightly Emett-like.

There is, of course, still plenty to do. The driver doesn't have any knobs to turn, levers to pull or gauges to tap.

..... and then there's a a fine array of copper pipework which needs to be arrayed over the boiler and running plate.

So, a couple more days' tweaking and I think she'll be ready to join the roster.
Mind you, she does look a bit too pristine and shiny for a working loco.................
