Will digital massoth smoke unit work with a qsi sound decoder

Hi,

As I cannot have the original usa trains smoke units work off a qsi sound decoder, can I install a digital massoth pulse smoke unit and connect it to the qsi board.

Just a thought. Just installed all the new sound files from qsi and was maybe expecting an easy solution to connect the smoke units but still no answer.

It's amazing, no one can tell me how it's done. I have received advice but it's based on steam locos. Present qsi software does not allow an easy connection, programming.

So massoth?

Cheers

Which QSI decoder - the Titan or the older Quantum Aristo or Magnum?

Not that I can help much with smoke unit connection to either, but it might help to clarify things for others.

The QSI board has a function output that can set intervals for 'puff' for the smoke unit motor and one for the smoke itself.

I did manage to hook up my gp30. Smoke unit and fan wired to the decoder. I then programmed the ports as per the guidance, 9 for the ohbl and 12 for rear cab light. I then adjusted the cv to adjust voltage. The smoke unit puffed away but it was always on. F12 did nothing. Also messing with the voltage cvs caused the smoke unit to stop working.

So can someone confirm correct wiring of the smoke unit and fan.

Can someone confirm which feature output and ports I use.

How do I programme the decoder to switch on/off via F12

Cheers

Steve
