WHR Style Bicycle Carrier Wagon

Thought I ought to re-post this from the old GSM as it's still a work in progress. Wanted to build on of these or something that looks very close:-

So I tracked down a cheapy bachmann bogie flat

Started to make up a new body from 80 thou plasticard.

This was my first attempt at the drop down doors, but decided I didn't like em.

So the following night I made up new doors, and hinged em so they would open.

Next job was to find some way to lock them shut. Made up some "bolts" from old paper clips.

Then made up some plasticard brackets on the body and doors to accept the bolts.

Bolt in the open position.

Knocked up some bicycle and baggage logos on the PC

Next came the bike racks. Out came my mini blowtorch and a bit of brass.

1st rack in place. Just loose fitted for now.

I think they are around £1.10 per pair, come in red; blue; black and green.
