Do I take it that these are just body kits requiring a chassis and bogies/wheels?

I have built a couple of IP kits in the past. There were some problems with the fit of the sides because the floors were fractionally too short. It was annoying but resolvable and I am happy with the results.
Since then - 2yrs ago the manufacturing process has improved for at least some of thier kits and generally the reviews have been good.

anyone made or have feed back on IP engineering kits??
thanks glen

The recent IP kits are a big improvement over the earlier ones, they make some really nice kits. The only reservation I have is that their wheels aren't the best. Easy enough to use an alternative though.

If you're after coaches and you run track power, I would steer away from the older IP kits with white metal bogies. They can cause a lot of frustration in my experience. The newer kits have wooden bogies - sounds odd, but they're supposed to work really well.
edit - there's a good article on building IP coaches in the April edition of Garden Rail magazine.
