Hi all.
I recently paid £50 for a box of random GSCALE parts, including a rolling road, a dozen or wheel sets, a large box of fittings, a bag of sleepers, some brass tube...

...and these.
Any idea what they are or for? They seem to be some sort of ceramic material, but that's about all I know!

There have, over the years, been a number of kids building sets that use clay/ceramic bricks. I had one in the 60s that used Tapwatta paste as cement.

Built a smashing bungalow, probably around 1:20 ish :think::think:
 
Funnily enough, I found an unopened box of these last week.

From a windmill kit.

I use the bricks as wagon loads....

So that’s where me lost marbles has got to :p
 
I bought similar blockx in Germany to build a platform.

Back in the day when I use walk around with my house on my back I was issued with a hexamine stove to heat up my drinking cup to make a cuppa.
A friend of mine used plastic explosive, which some were issued with, when he ran out of hexamine; the trick evidently was watch it so you didn't burn the bum out of your cup.
