Batch of 10 open wagon kits in progress today. Bought on a whim a few years ago. These are Brandbright GS8 I think.

What you see is my workbench with 2 x Blue Flyer jobs going on at the same time. The one actually on the bench is a simple battery rehash, this is a friends one where the original rubber wheels had been mangled over the years. The masked up one on the test track has a complete new chassis and is getting a full paint makeover. This came as an Ebay win with the replecement bogies and lots of other detail but the worst paint job ever. So a bit of work, will be getting a Deltang RC set up and MLS Sound, not right for a Hymec but I am loath to add another £200 for a Battery DCC RC job to a loco that I will not use that much.

I think the Proprietor should have been using a 'face covering' from the start!

I know I said the 7/8ths experiment was at an end...and chopped in my live steam 'Sea Lion'...but I have three battery locos...and the 15mm/ft bridge is too narrow for the Swift Sixteen Tin Turtle...so on a whim, I've started to build a timber truss bridge, 1596062499676.pngto be as light as possible...

Getting to grips with Deltank again, got it all working but not all the sounds are right with the buttons. Some are turning on/off with the thrash handle. Hm confused.com. But will get it right eventually even if I have to call Andy at Micron again!

This rather nice Screw Driver set obtained from Aldi yesterday now part of the Workbench Armory, hope you can read the sizes of the attachments from the pic. Nice extension piece that Gives a reach of 4.5 inches, often useful and that part has a magnetic tool holder as well. Great value for £4.99.

The coal staithes are finished, just waiting for a few 3D printed accessories to arrive and be painted, before the big reveal. I hope that when you see the end result you will agree that they turned out rather well.

The screwdriver set looks very good Jon. I will have to nip to Aldi tomorrow and see if they still have them.

Today I cobbled together a retaining wall for the old rack railway. The retaining wall is made from a number of old cutting boards from the Ellis Tea Room. They are made from a tough nylon material which is easily cut with a jig saw. I intend to infill the space behind the boards with concrete:-

Being somewhat preoccupied with the recently acquired 3D printer, only just got around to opening today's mail.

Conversion of a well known diesel, gutted the RC equipment, original motors consigned to the bin, replacement motors fitted and tested.

What control system will it end up with, Bluetooth control, already revamped and updated the motor control program along with a newly created Android App, or maybe could end up being DCC, either with a Tams DRS receiver and a decoder, or a Home Brew motor control decoder, who knows, and having plenty of time to spare until the new timber building arrives somewhere between the 11th & 13th of August, help pass the time whist keeping a watchful eye on the 3D printer.

More Battery Work on the bench today, like our friend “The Shed“ I have been working on this kind of thing. The 0 Gauge Hymec has run into a few programming issues that will be resolved in time with much Brain wrangling.

A simpler task (well Ithought it would be as there will not be any sound) was to Deltang my Track Workers Vehicle. As this former Dickies runs on 4xAA cells a baby Rx45-22 was deemed sufficient to power it. Got it up and running in the end, but the Binding proved to be a bit tricky. Still runs Ok now on the Test rig seen below so installation looms up for tomorrow. These Rx45’s are really tiny.

Now I'm jealous. Aldi here in The Netherlands doesn't have it. ☹️
