Another Battery Conversion up and running. My Black LGB Mallet (22852) has been in bits for a while and awaiting a decision on a chip. This arrived Saturday and is a Locsound 5XL but I got it installed today after a few days of pondering and am pretty happy with the result. Probably ought to do a Battery Thread about this, so this note is a little teaser.

So, moving on with the Zillertalbahn coaches today. Completed the interior paneling on one and made a start on the seating. You start off with a little collection of parts to make one unit -

So 4 down, only another 28 to go between the 2 kits. I think this might take while. Note the little window corner pieces painted in on the coach panels - there are 128 that needed doing. I not sure I will be able the retain my sanity till I have finished these 2.

A round Tuit here. In the early 90s I bought a nose hung tram motor which never got in any vehicle. Today I tested it and it rolled along happily!

So, in it goes:

I’ve spent a good number of hours going from this:-

To this:-

I was very disappointed with the figures when they arrived, but after much work, I’m pleased with the results.

The last few months I got several batches of wood, all delivered by my father (you know, the Master Modeller). Wherever he heard of someone building ships or anything wood, he asked for the leftovers. An uncle of mine, actually my dad’s twin brother, gave me a ‘shipload’ of leftovers. Today I finally got the patience to sort out all the tiny planks and the main bulk is 5 x 1 mm in several sizes, 5 x 0,5 mm in several sizes and 4 x 0.5 in several sizes. Absolutely fantastic modellers material. And then I have not yet sorted out the thicker planks (2 mm and over).
I have enough to finish the build of the three coaches.

Phil, since lockdown, I’ve been having a number two haircut every three weeks, my lady friend is very handy with the home barber set. Sadly her conversation whilst cutting the hair is pretty limited :giggle::rofl::clap:.

Lucky you, I have to self cut using my electric clippers, bit tricky doing the back. Conversation between my self not too bad but is answering yourself when talking to yourself a bit of a worry?

No, it's when you start arguing about everything you say to yourself.

I put these 3 together a few weeks ago and finished them off,Jeep and Chevy hardtop are kids snap togethers cheapys, ideal for outside and the little hot rod has a 50`s feel,Moon caps and such like and I left it in grey primer as even hot rodders have rountoits, the only modifications I made were mirrors and spare wheel for the Jeep, the Jeep is a late model and I`m not bothered as a Jeep is a Jeep, may weather it at some point, the passenger cars in the background are in for the paintshops too.IMG_20200502_073506.jpgIMG_20200502_073618.jpg

A new workbench requires a few new tools. Proops the hobby tools specialists are a ten minute drive away from me. I rang them this morning and arranged to pick up a few tools from them. The tools were all picked and packaged and left in the foyer for me to collect:-

The entire display cost less than £40.
