Warley Model Railway show 2016

It is my intention to drive up on Sunday. I just went to see about booking an advance ticket and save some money, being a fully paid up tight-arse. As I shall be on my own (story of my life) I only need one ticket. I see there is a 'Fulfilment Fee' of £1.50 per transaction, therefore saving on advance ticket for me = £0.00. Pay on the day car park = £12.00, advance ticket - £12.00, saving £0.00. I can see why people are put of by shows at the NEC.

You could see what the local train service is like on Sunday. The show is in hall 5 which is quite close to Birmingham International station. The walk is all indoors. You can park for free at most stations on that line and the return train fare is £2.20.

A Warley ticket costs £15 and for this you get over 90 layouts, nearly 150 trade stands, over 20 demos, over 60 societies and some other displays including the real Betton Grange. I just don't know how we do it for the money!

Try going to a London show - or football.. Transport, ticket etc and you wont see much from £150. let alone eating!
12 quid -

More power to the Warley Crew! I say..
With this sort of thing, the numbers get very scary, vary quickly.

Same with preserved railways, and "The Santa's".. Costs are quite scary, as are the numbers of passengers being carried in a very short time.. Without those prepared to give their time, and effort, for free none of this would happen.

Yeah, but...
The little blue ones either keep the elephants away, or stop you rolling out of bed at night!
;):eek::tmi::tmi::giggle:

Stockers has covered the 'keeping elephants away' aspect of that statement, I shall refrain from posting a picture that illustrates the alternative....

As the Bishop said to the actress!

Looks like there were some rather good trainsets this year!

There was a lot of lovely stuff this year, a very good show but not much G. Did spot Mike in deep conversation but he'd escaped somewhere when I passed again so didn't get to say hello again this time.
Done my bit taking the two G layouts in the last five years, so come on guys ;)
