..or the axle broke, as many Aristo axles do over the yearsAfter the axle with magnet(s) for the Aristocraft Rogers tender.
I think the bogie is intact, and it was just the axle that has been 'robbed' for another loco??
Thanks,
PhilP.
Nah, it's egg shaped and hits something as it goes round and roundI thought the magnets were in the rubber thing on the axle, and I don't think there is a cam.
But I could be wrong.

Right, so wile I was wondering how to mount the wheel of choice on the slightly undersized Tamiya axle .........................After the axle with magnet(s) for the Aristocraft Rogers tender.

I'll see what I can do - you're obviously not too familiar with my photography, then GregWow, that is a really goofy mechanism. I never bought any Aristo with sound because it never sounded great, so I have never seen this mechanism in person.
Better pictures would be great, would like to see it, if not too much trouble.
Greg
Yup, it's the bit on the other side of the bogie that shows the detail, but there's not enough spare cable to lift the bogie clear, which was why I resorted to propping the bogie up, and trying a sneak-in shot
Right - you need a round magnet on an idler axle to sit in that little groove on the bogie - the neoprene cam on the axle causes the magnet to ride up and down, thus bringing it up to the sensor once per revolution.
As I mentioned before, there's no real point spending money on the Aristo sound, it's not really worth the effort.
And I think the bogie is the wrong way round, Mick's photo shows the same as mine, with the chuff axle being the trailing axle on the lead bogie.
So, are the sensor wires connected?
OK, some better pictures (possibly) plus piccy of a repaired Aristo axle that you could use if you can put up with its looks. But chances of getting both, are probably nil??
An axle to fit/match is a better probability.
Very probably (from having heard early Aristocraft diesel sounds).. But it is what I have been asked to do..
Again, possibly.. But I do not think it matters (unless it turns out they catch on the couplings??
Yes they are.. - He say's, having been and checked..
Also, would say mine are the right way round.. - The wires 'naturally' fall to the slot in the floor between the bogies..

My Rogers loco is REA, but I couldn't think how to describe the boxYeah, the REA was silver-blue in color
The mechanicals are most likely the same - they just messed around with the wiring route - the sound may be better though - it can't be worseThis is a yellow box, and a ?slope-back? tender..
