Using two wireless transmitters with one receiver

Hoping someone out there can help. Thanks to Steve's posting I have now got a second s/h wireless transmitter on its way from Glendale Junction. It says that up to eight transmitters can be used with one receiver - I'm just wondering how.

In an ideal world of could I would just power them both up and the receiver would be intelligent enough to work it out - but I suspect I have to do some jiggery pokery to register the new transmitter with the receiver. Can anyone assist?

I've tried searching online for a manual for the 55055p receiver, but not been successful. I know someone recently posted the link to all the manuals but can I track that posting down???? I wonder if that link could be put into a 'sticky' posting sometime?

Got the manual, which is suitably vague - it says

Hints:
[*]- The Wireless Receiver can receive control inputs from up to eight remotes (each equipped with a 55050/55051 Wireless Transmitter).[*]- When operating several remotes at the same time, control inputs can overlap and be lost.[*]- 55015 Universal Remotes in doubleheading mode count as two remotes.
Which seems to imply that I don't need to do anything other than turn on the remotes and start sending instructions - though I must be prepared for some potential loss of data owing to 'overlaps'

Here's hoping it really is that simple

Mine couldn't today.
Ran an analogue loco .MTS Ok
Put Les's loco on the one hes having problems with. Sound lights Ok
Then nothing couldn't pick up a loco., but the navigator was responding Ok.
Unpluged the MTS then pluged it back in nothing.
But again the Navi was working.
Tried another hand set (mts) nothing
Unpluged the set again and pluged the original hand set back in and everything was back to normal.

Yeah it's wonderful:crying::crying::crying::wits::wits::wits:
