Hi forum!

I consider since a long while to recreate a streamliner train in prototypical lenght.

However, the trainsets of train compositions I know would turn out considerably (too) long.

Therefore, I would like to get to know:

What were some of the shortest streamliner trainsets which were operated in real life and can be recreated with the USA trains rolling stock?

Looking forward to your answers :)

Greg, up around North Bay ON the local school train consisted of an old F7 S-B and a single passenger car. However, that's a bit of a red-herring - it really wasn't any kind of inter-city streamliner express....

Just for interest, there is a group in the States who run a preserved stainless steel EMD E5 with 5 streamlined coaches. At least on some occasions they have called it the Nebraska Zephyr. That might be the shortest train of this type. I use this as my inspiration for running my stainless steel E8 with 4 coaches. Ok not a perfect match but close enough for me.
Here is a photo of the Nebraska Zephyr - Zephyr

Here is my version.
