Hi Guys!
Thought I'd share this with you, my new arrival from Berlin, the new Train Line RhB four axle container wagon complete with "Die Post" container. Though the container looks very similar to LGB's version, it is actually a different model. This is the view of the entire model. Cost was just shy of ?200.00. But the detail is great, and it's an accurate model too.

It's made from plastic but seems pretty robust and good quality. Although it's for the Swiss market (take a look at the website on http://www.train.li ) I bought two of these off German Ebay on Tuesday and they arrived today.

Perhaps most importantly, and unlike LGB, they arrived in perfect condition - no broken or missing parts - and believe me, that is a novelty these days!

That looks like a very nice unit. The price in the States is a bit higher, $395 or £245. There are three versions available from Train-Li USA, http://www.train-li-usa.com/store/just-arrived-c-88.html < Link To http://www.train-li-usa.c...just-arrived-c-88.html

I'll have to think about it a bit as I have to pay my state and federal taxes in the next two weeks. :(

That's very nice indeed - makes me look forward to the forthcoming Trainline locos even more!
Do the plastics used seem to be the high-tech types that were promised, like the ones that LGB use (or used to use, going by some of the more recent offerings!)?
Oh, and where is it actually made? Germany or China?

I'm not sure about the quality of the plastic, Jon. It's robust enough, it seems, but doesn't have quite the same feel as LGB's Luran S material.

They're made in China.

Some photos of the prototype - here's two taken in Arosa station, when we were on a skiing holiday - our apartment looked down onto the railway station. Not a "Die Post" container but you can see the detail of the Sb-v Wechselbehältertragwagen.

...and here are two more - another one from Arosa (same SBB container) and another photo taken in 2003 at Poschiavo station, this time with a "Die Post" container and interestingly, an Fb wagon (as per LGB's 40880).

Enjoy!
