Traction on Brass vice Stainless rail

What?

Ditto. Bring back logarithms - or actually, don't!

I rather enjoyed using logarithms - which probably reinforces my family's opinion of my weirdness.

Before decimalisation, it was necessary to use them in order to allocate funds where I worked, as you can't apportion £sd in a ratio.
Once my 'weirdness' was known around the office, folk would casually walk past my desk and one of their cases needing such division would miraculously appear at my side...

Keep it simple, don't try to build a railroad where the track gains more than 3 inches in ten feet, much less on curves...that's all you need to know.....no complicated math....very unsophisticated...but it works......."KEEP IT SIMPLE, stupid", is the rule around here

No guessing or calculating that in my book is 1:40. Which in actual fact is fairly steep for a railway, but do-able, coz I have 15mtrs of it.
