Total waste of time

Possibly slightly warmer where you are than here in the UK,so other use of a plow is a sun scraper:cool::cool:,seriously,one of the railroads on u tube in the Phoenix area uses that excuse so they can run a plow:nod:Can you explain what a wick wiper is?not something I have come across before, would we here in the UK know it as something else?:nerd::nerd::nerd:

It is a piece of equipment made from PVC pipe in the shape of a T.

Across the bottom of the T piece a wick of some sort (usually Nylon Rope) is connected into the 2 ends of the T.

The long part is filled with weeedkiller and the rope soaks it up.

The rope is then dragged across selected weeds to apply poison.

Used one when I worked on a golf course.

Thanks, understand now, just have never heard the term before,,,as for the weedkiller,,got some of that already;)

I am thinking along the lines of a bar extending across the front of a wagon with a tank to hold the poison and being pushed around by a loco.
Wick would be just above rail height and be wider than the wagon to get stuff on the side of the track.

Don't know about the UK but here in Aust we can get generic poison without the "Roundup" name for a lot less. Called Glyphopsate 360 which is the active ingredient .

Do you think it will exterminate the Dandy Lion invasion around Rail Estate?

It will kill any broadleaf plant it comes into contact with it is non selective.
Cheap way to use it is to buy a bottle of the concentrate, pour a small amount into a container the with a small paint brush just dab it onto the plant that needs to go to heaven very easy and stops mass destruction incidents.

That'll do me - although it can go to that other place that begins with 'H'!

Thanks both for your replies. Now need to find some in this locality (or maybe in the North when we visit our son next).>:)

Available here too . Try Ebay. 5 lts for about 30 quid. The instruction will say 'per hectare' but you can work it out - look for knapsack instructions.

This thread prompted me to undertake some further testing of 'white thunder':cool::cool:

I shall need quite a bit more weight at the blunt end - fortunately, I think there's enough room between the frames on the underside of the wagon chassis :nod::nod:

Like the weathering with the spilled liquid running down from the filler, how did you do that?

I think I just did it with a brush, and some fairly heavily thinned acrylic - that part of it was a while ago :wondering::wondering:
