One other issue would be that I know for a fact that a water main runs under the edge of the bank

Ah yes that might become a real 'Wet and Gooey' extension! :rolf:

There is of course this....

Thought so. Baaa-king mad. :rolf:

Must have been a few tense moments handling the fence sections right next to Gooey station. All looking good for the new tracklaying work.

Looking forward to the developments Mel. A great empire, as for over the fence, maybe not, sometimes less is more :nerd:

Cheers John, yes that is quite true.

Had a bit of a tidy up between showers and here's where we're at for now. The pathing is all done, the compost bin moved (back to where it started a couple of years ago of course) and the gravel is in place.

Making the interchange siding baseboard (from re-cycled useable parts of the old shed roof) is on the cards for this week.

The WGLR's new official viewpoint: from the compost bin. Love it!

Just had an idea Mel. That lovely new fence could be reinforced, have a whole lot of track and buildings fixed to it and it then lowers backwards by remote control, with unfolding legs and rests level with your layout thus giving a preformed extension platform for when you want it. When finished with it raises back up and no-one is the wiser.
Call me mad but you know it would be an amazing sight!
Next step the world!!.......Hahhhahhahahahahahahah...call me mad eh....I'll show you.......... "What is that white coat for, and the funny straps.......... You'll never take me, copper......

Great overall shot of your Garden Mel the village looks fantastic
Thought the shed was your out side lav :rolf::rolf:

No Richie..that is in the compost bin...:rolf::rolf:

Remind me not to have any compost from Mel if it's free to a good home :rolf::rolf:

The garden is looking good Mel, its really opened up the back. Can't wait to the SG interchange line appear.

Cheers Keith. Hope to see you 3 soon.

With the weather situation over the weekend, it was time for an indoor job. The result is this, the good old Airfix beam engine kit which is back in the range.

The mouldings are beginning to show their age and the movement has turned out to be decidedly stiff, so I'm not entirely sure that it'll become a working model (Airfix don't seem to do the old motorising kit these days). The whole reason for making it was to fit inside this pump house that I recently acquired.

But today the weather has been much better and I've managed to make the baseboards for the exchange sidings. The boards are re-cycled roof panels from the shed with pressure treated legs. The front will be fitted with an edging strip, but I'll probably have to add a small fillet at the far end where the narrow gauge track will swing round from Gooey station. I've left the felt at the near end ready to overlap the next board which will take the single standard gauge track to the shed.
