Today on the WGLR

Some good progress there Mel! I look forward to seeing what you do with this interchange. Will it be solely a transshipment facility or will you make a place for your L&M inspired transporter wagon?

Cheers chaps. No James, purely transhipment ala Welshpool, but with an added end loading facility for my CARFIT wagon.
 
Garden is looking sooooo much bigger and better than when I visited in July Mel. All your efforts are making a big difference.........:thumbup:

Now if you read back on this thread, you'll see that the new part of the garden was described as a seating area. The reason for this has become apparent today.

We actually bought the swing seat at the back end of last year (B&Q, greatly reduced because it was no longer "seasonable") and it's been sitting in it's box in the garage. The gravelled area was carefully designed so that it would fit. :nail::nail:

There's not that much building work left to do now, which is just as well as parts of the WGLR are in need of a little fettling. :thinking:

In other news - a very nice parcel arrived while I was putting the seat together. One of Rob's excellent Swift Sixteen wiggly van gounded bodies. A brilliant casting, it MAY end up looking a little rusty. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I bet as soon as you have cleared all the weeds in the ballast the cat will really approve. (with a sigh of relief of course)
 
Is that an original W&GLR cast iron seat?
 
With the weather forecast looking a bit iffy today, I'd planned a couple of indoor jobs. One is getting the primer coat on my wiggly van body and the other is this;

The interior for my new pumping house. I cut a piece of black plastic to fit inside the building (this will sit on the ground and shouldn't be effected by the damp). The raised bed for the beam engine was cut from ply and painted concrete colour. The hand rails are made from wire netting. The wife bought me the little tiles ages ago from a craft fair because they were on offer dead cheap and she thought they might come in handy ...... and now they have. :bigsmile::bigsmile:
 
Wow Mel so much happening on different fronts...a veritable whirr of action.

I do like the moss..it looks like tall grass in a disused siding.

What a great thought, beer in hand, copy of a good railway magazine on the lap, the sun beating down, trains sauntering by and swinging in a sun seat......damn fantastic if you ask me.........
